Refund timelines depend on why the refund is being issued. At FlightsMojo, refunds generally fall into one of the three scenarios below.
Your money is always safe with us, and refunds are processed as soon as we are able to do so.
1️⃣ Payment completed but booking failed
This can happen if:
Seats become unavailable during booking
Airline does not confirm the booking
A technical issue occurs after payment
What happens in this case?
The booking is not confirmed
FlightsMojo initiates the refund immediately, usually within a few hours
A refund receipt with the RRN / reference number is sent to you
How long does the refund take to reflect?
Depending on your payment method:
UPI: usually within a few hours to 24 hours
Credit / Debit cards: typically 3–5 working days
Net banking: usually 3–5 working days
Wallets: timelines depend on the wallet provider
In this case, the refund is already processed by FlightsMojo the remaining time depends only on your bank.
2️⃣ Customer-initiated cancellation
If you cancel your flight:
FlightsMojo submits the cancellation request to the airline or supplier
The airline reviews and confirms the refundable amount
Once FlightsMojo receives the refund from the airline, we process it back to you
Why can’t FlightsMojo refund before receiving the airline amount?
Until the airline confirms the cancellation and closes the ticket, the booking remains open in the airline system.
During this stage:
The ticket may still be eligible for rescheduling or other actions
Processing a refund before final airline confirmation can lead to conflicting outcomes
For this reason, FlightsMojo processes refunds only after receiving the amount from the airline, ensuring accuracy and preventing duplicate adjustments.
Timeline
Airline processing time varies by airline and fare type
After FlightsMojo receives the refund, it is processed within 72 hours
Bank timelines then apply (as mentioned above)
Please note:
Refund amount depends on airline fare rules
FlightsMojo service fees are non-refundable
3️⃣ Airline-initiated cancellation or schedule change
If the airline cancels or changes your flight:
The airline first processes the refund to the supplier or FlightsMojo
This step usually take 4-5 days but can sometimes take 20–25 days, depending on the airline
Once FlightsMojo receives the refund, we process it to you immediately
Bank timelines apply after that
Important to know
Delays in this case are caused by airline processing timelines
FlightsMojo cannot refund before receiving the amount from the airline for the same reasons explained above
Your money remains secure and tracked throughout the process
During peak travel or disruption periods
During periods such as:
Winter peak travel
Bad weather
Airline disruptions
Unforeseen operational issues
Airlines may take longer than usual to process refunds.
At the same time, higher volumes can create processing backlogs.
Please rest assured:
Refunds are not lost
They are processed as soon as funds are received from airlines
How will I know my refund is processed?
Refunds are sent to the original payment method
A refund confirmation or receipt (with RRN/reference number) is shared once processed
Banks may take additional time to reflect the amount
